Despite artificial intelligence being incorporated into several fields and businesses, IT departments have failed to serve their customers the basic IT services.

Research stated that an estimated 47% of technology leaders stated the IT organisation is effective for basic IT services. However, it was a straight decline from 69% in 2023.

Meanwhile, the data were from a survey that included 2500 C-executives from 34 countries and was conducted by top experts from Oxford Economics and IBM. The survey also involved chief data officers, chief technology officers, and chief information officers.

A research survey was conducted by IBM, and it stated that 80% of CEOs utilizing next-generation technology like generative AI has a requirement of transparency to develop trust.

However, only half of the business leaders in the technology deliver on the key responsive capabilities. Not only this but a lesser number of entrepreneurs stated that they are delivering the capabilities of fairness, transparency, and feedback.

Mohammad Ali, the senior vice president of IBM consulting, gave a brief into how AI has transformed the work nature, stating, “​​Tech leaders today are grappling with multiple business demands, made even more complicated by the rise of generative AI.

He continued, “They must navigate the challenges of modernising their IT infrastructure and scaling generative AI to support the business’ core competitive advantage. In this evolving AI landscape, the relationship between tech CxOs and their finance counterparts has never been more important, aligning technology spending with business outcomes to drive real value from AI investments.

The technology infrastructure concerns have spiked in the past six months owing to the incorporation of generative AI. According to the research, the utilization of artificial intelligence technology has increased as the technology business leaders turn to optimise the infrastructure for escalating it.

The research further concluded that more than a third of tech business experts and executives have stated compliance and regulation as one of the biggest drawbacks of generative AI.

In talk about the future, the top business expert stated that the company’s ability will rely on their decision to develop, attract, and keep the talented tech geeks. However, in the same survey, several business leaders also stated that filling the key tech roles is one of the challenging tasks in their company.
