According to the CEO of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, Meta AI is the most intelligent AI assistant that you can use freely. Whether you’re looking for restaurant recommendations or browsing for flight information, you can simply ask for a recommendation from Meta AI.
Some users find Meta AI’s integration into chat boxes and search bars annoying. What if you don’t want Meta AI interfering with your feeds. Is there a way to turn it off?
No, you can’t turn off Meta AI. But you can mute the AI chat assistant for as long as you like.
Mute Meta AI on Facebook
Users can’t turn off Meta AI, but they sure can select the “mute” option.
Step 1
Open your Facebook. At the top right corner, you’ll find the blue and purple color circle icon. Select the icon and hit the button.

Clicking the blue and purple icon will take you to a search bar; hit the arrow button on the right.

On hitting the blue arrow button, you’ll land on the Meta AI chat. Select the “i” icon on the corner right.

You’ll find the “mute” option button (bell icon).

Hit the bell icon. Multiple options will now be displayed: 15 minutes, 1 hour, 8 hours, 24 hours and until I change it. Just select the option you find suitable.
Users who find Meta AI annoying can select the option that says, “Until I change it.”
